Pros: Good price, great looks, loves to go fast in all gears, great engine sound Cons: Terrible suspension that affects all aspects of bike until corrected, needs better sounding exhaust
My last bike was a 1973.5 R60/5 BMW that I could ride all day on the interstates or the country roads outside Philadelphia, and not be tuckered out at all. However, it was neither especially quick nor sporty. It was a solid, touring workhorse that did ...
Pros: Superb engine, nice ergos, great-looking, best value bike on the market today! Cons: So-so suspension
I've been riding V-Twins since I learned to ride. My first bike was an EX500, then I turned cultish and bought a Honda Hawk GT650. That thing looked cool, and I got a lot of comments, but its insipid engine really failed to inspire me. I finally turned...
Pros: Quick, Sharp, Incredible Sound, Easy to Ride, Excellent Manners, It does everything well, low maintenance. Cons: Suspension could be nicer.
I recently bought a slightly used 2003 SV650S. This model differs from the past models in that the engine has been revamped to use fuel injection. The bodywork also matches that of the SV1000S. So what can I say about this bike? Two words.. Frick'n ...
Pros: Inexpensive, light and very responsive Cons: A little small and the suspension is soft.
This is my second bike and I love it. I got a '93 Suzuki GS500E last year and had fun learning how to ride. I researched tons before deciding to buy the SV650S. I heard only good things, and thought that maybe it was too good to be true. But its not....
Pros: Perfect bike for sport riders who live in the real world. Awesome Value. Cons: Ergonomics too sporty for around town
I dare you to find a better value on a new bike... Try to convince someone that you only paid $6k for a scoot this appealing and they will walk away wondering why they paid $12k for a bike that they could only dream of appreciating it's performance...
Pros: Awesome price and performance! V-twin Cons: it's small, not built for a 6'1" 200 pound person.
Excellent bike! I feel alittle big for the bike, but after some suspension work done it's a bit better, new fork springs and all new back spring. I also changed the tires, exhaust (Yosh), and installed a stage 1 DynoJet kit. Awesome on the track and...
Pros: Handling, Weight, Price, Fuel Mileage, and a V-Twin Cons: Lack of a fuel gauge, Sounds like a lawn mower (stock)
The SV650S is an all around great bike. It is stable at all ranges of its envelope. The bike loves to flick around in the twisties. It requires minimal effort throughout a ride.
My main complaint with the SV is that it sounds like a lawn mower. This is easily remedied with a new exhaust system. While you are replacing the exhaust a new intake and jetting is recommended. The other complaint that I had was the lack of a fuel gauge. This is not the end of the world though as the bike has a low fuel light and you can always set the trip odometer.
The pros of this bike are endless. To keep it short the SV650 is a light bike. It comes with all of the good attributes of a light machine.
